appran.mu is an app making full use of multimedia and AI to teach students according to their syllabus requirements and adopting the right pedagogical methodologies. The app is free to students and is available on various platforms, such as Android, iOS, web, Facebook, and Whatsapp. Students can read and listen to the videos on their devices and ask questions to the AI platform for clarifications and further information. The latter uses conversational learning strategy to answer them back. The questions and answers are continuously monitored by teachers and enhanced over time. The AI system provides psychological support to students during their learning process throughout the duration of the Covid19 pandemic and beyond. This feature is an empathic approach that helps students to dare to do better and benefits all students, introverts alike, to ask questions freely without shyness. This programme does not hold any personal data of the students at any point in time.
Blind students rely only on Braille books and their tutor to study. The braille system was
developed in 1824 which enabled visually impaired and blind people to write and read.
Braille system consists of a series of rectangular blocks called cells which have raised
dots. The number and arrangement of these dots distinguish one character from another.
Braille books are usually not kept up to date as they require a certain level of expertise
to make. As a matter of fact, the success rate of blind students is very low.
Using Conversational learning method coupled with Artificial Intelligence, we have created a
google assistant for education. It works through conversational speech, whereby the student
would interact by talking to the system, which in turn will answer back by voice to the
user. Questions that are not available will be saved and analysed by our pedagogical team
and the appropriate input will be updated to the system.
